| Lovely hotel with very good restaurants on-site and many others nearby. Rooms were clean and nicely furnished with antiques. Could use upgraded mattresses. Overall convenient location. |

| The Decor in our room was like going back in time.
We stayed in the Delux Room and would highly recommend it.
The food in the Dining Room had good presentation and delicious.
The Saloon was unique and the bartender and waitresses wore period attire.
We will definetly stay there again |

| We really enjoyed our stay in the starter hotel. The hotel is conveniently located to all of the downtown shops, bars, restaurants and the train station. The breakfast was excellent. One tip though, make sure to upgrade to a queen bed as the “classic one full bed” is too small for a couple. |

| This is a beautiful, historic hotel. It's updated in that it has a TV & wi-fi service. However, the thermostat in our room didn't work, so we couldn't turn on the fan, & the room felt "stuffy." Also, a mini-fridge would be nice. |

| My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Strater. It lived up to it's reputation totally. Only negative: be careful of the electic zaps from the staircase brass handrail!! |

| Had a wonderful two days at the historic Strater in Durango. Situated in old downtown near shopping, restaurants, bars. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are unique, historic but very comfortable! |

| The hotel is beautifully restored, conveniently located, and by local standards, expensive! See it once for character, but don't stay over the bar on the second floor, even though that's one of the nicest rooms in the hotel. Despite asking for an upper floor, we were placed on the second floor until we asked to be moved at 10 PM, just when the music was picking up speed downstairs. Our second room was half the size of the first, with one window opening on a brick wall. For almost a third of the price you can stay at the Lodge, a block away, with a standard motel room that is as advertised, basic comfort with an excellent price, still in the fun downtown neighborhood. |

| Classic "saloon era" hotel. Great service, perfect location, comfy rooms tastefully updated. Cant wait to go back. |

| You can tell when originally restore, the hotel was fabulous. It is still very nice BUT could be a bit cleaner. The dark draperies and carpets show the dust worse - not better! Bathroom was very clean so that is always a plus. I just don't think some people "see" the corners like I do! |
